about Mrs. T.
I am a native Charlottean. I attended South Meck and Appalachian State, then taught at Mallard Creek before coming to AK. I've also taught in DC and Raleigh. I met my husband at Mallard Creek and we got married in 2012. We have two daughters, Kate and Elise. They are pretty darn cute, but they don't let me sleep.
I love watching sports on tv and in person, especially the NFL, NHL, and college basketball. My fav teams include the Panthers, Mountaineers, Blue Devils, Hornets, Hurricanes, Checkers, Charlotte Knights, and our AK Knights. My dad, younger brother, and I go to a Panthers away game every year with the goal of visiting every stadium. So far we've been to Green Bay, Atlanta, DC, Buffalo, Cincy, Dallas, New Orleans, Chicago, and Cleveland. In that order.
Needless to say, I am a history nerd. I love all things social studies and have taught Civics and Economics, US History, APUSH, and World History, but I prefer C&E because it is fun to teach and because it is SOO important for young people to learn about our government and how to be a part of it.
